Pg25.   Mukerji, Dhan Gopol "Gay-Neck, The Story of a Pigeon" Angus and Robertson, Australia, 1969. Illustrated by Boris Artzybasheff.  Softcover in very condition, 191 pages.  A Newbery Medal winner, 1928,  this story describes the love of a boy for his carrier pigeon raised from birth, trained, sent off to war, and returned gravely injured only to be saved by his young owner. Each of seventeen chapters introduced with small stylized black and white illustration, and some end with one. Three large double page illustrations also appear.
