The Astronomical Society of South Australia

We are all actively involved with the Astronomical Society of South Australia, or ASSA.
I am currently the Honorary Secretary for 2007.
We don't tell fortunes !  We use telescopes and  binoculars to look at stars,  and other astronomical objects.

We watched the recent Transit of Mercury across the Sun on May 7th 2003, pictured below.

We travel to the Observatory at Stockport as often as health and money permit
and try to observe from home as often as practical with our own telescopes.
All three of us saw the total solar eclipse from Roxby Downs in December 2002.
Skip & I have observed over a dozen aurorae.

The photo below shows an aurora australis, or southern lights,
seen from the Stockport Star Party in November 2001.
