About
Us Welcome to Peninsula
Community Broadcasters Inc. A
non-profit community organization
Background
Information
In 1997 a group of people
gathered in Moonta to launch a Community FM radio station.
Coping with the regulatory
framework, finding potential sites for a studio, broadcasting tower
and equipment consumed the group for much of that year.
In March 1998 Gulf FM
received its licence to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
A radio station with its
studios in the Kadina Town Hall and its transmission tower at
Arthurton broadcasts to an area in a radius of 50 kms from
Arthurton. This station is able to service the Yorke region very
effectively.
